Schoenhauser Alle 5

Steve Binetti lived for several years in a squat in Schönhauser Allee 5.  In 1989, Feeling B bandleader Aljoscha Rompe occupied the Schoenhauser Allee 5  apartment building with some friends in the Berlin neighborhood Prenzlauer Berg. The house evolved into a living and work space for many musicians, painters, filmmakers and other artists in East-Berlin. They founded an association for the arts and called it "wydoks". They broadcast the pirate-radio channel "radio P" from the roofs of Berlin and were hunted by the police. In the early nineties, wydoks competed in the local elections as a political party and received 2890 votes.
